Antoinette: the kind soul

I am Antoinette Hoffmann and I lived from 1895 to 2000.

Before the Kulturhaus Oberwesel became a town museum, the house was a winery and the home of the Hoffmann family. Antoinette Hoffmann was born in this house in 1895 and lived to be more than 100 years old. She was never married and was well respected and loved in Oberwesel.

Antoinette shows us pictures from times gone by. She tells us about strenuous work in steep vineyards, about the time of National Socialism and her relief efforts for the sick and displaced persons. She was a "tough and cool" woman for her time!
