Fascinating model train in the museum

Eine einzigartig gestaltete Modelleisenbahn-Anlage im Gewölbekeller gehört zu den neuen Attraktionen im Museum. Die Miniaturwelt stellt das Mittelrheintal, die Stadt Oberwesel und seine Bahnstrecke der 1950er Jahre dar. Der Besucher kann dabei viele unzählige kleine Details vom Ruderer auf dem Rhein bis hin zum Weinmarktstreiben auf dem Marktplatz entdecken.

Fascinating miniature landscape

This fascinating miniature landscape was designed and built by the Modell-Bahn-Freunde 2000 Rheingold e.V. in months of painstaking work. The townscape of Oberwesel consists of around 130 typical buildings and towers, with the Church of Our Lady as the main motif; this is particularly elaborately crafted from wood.

Rail system over 18 meters long

The railroad layout with its track system in HO format extends over a length of approx. 18 meters. Visitors can start the trains at the push of a button and follow their course along this impressive U-shaped landscape. Of course, this also includes the vineyards typical of the Middle Rhine region.
